Another Translation of the 2017 Statement of Belief
It has always been a concern to have the 2017 Statement of Belief translated into as many languages as we have languages represented in our churches. One of the original mandates of the Theological Forum back in 2016 was that the final statement should have no ‘heavy’ theological terms in order that it should be easy to understand, easy to translate and easy to use as a teaching tool.
Recently, a third language translation of the original 2017 Statement of Belief in English was completed, this time in Afrikaans.
Historically, the 2017 Statement of Belief was translated first into Sesotho by Baruti Titus Noinyane, Obakeng Moreo and Mr. Tebogo Noinyane in October 2017, then into Zulu by Umfundisi Sipho Mfusi in July 2019 and now into Afrikaans by Pastors Ian Stuart and Jacques Louw completed in November 2020. This brings the number of documents around the Statement of Belief made available to churches to eleven. A helpful Expanded Scripture version has also recently been added with every Bible passage included in full below each section.
May thanks to these and many others who have worked to make this possible.
